While watching a Kings game in the fall of 1995, an injured player fell to the ice and someone came out to help him. Her interest was peak and she began a campaign to meet that person who treated that player. He was Pete Demers, the head athletic trainer for the Los Angeles Kings. She wrote a letter a week for 8 weeks until Mr. Demers personally called her and invited her to the Great Western Forum for an interview and direction on how to become an athletic trainer. Five years after this meeting she found herself as the senior athletic trainer for East Los Angeles College responsible for 16 intercollegiate sports and overseeing the care of more than 400 patient-athletes annually. Her tenacity and love for the LA Kings is what led her to a higher education and her position at ELAC.
