Bio

Dr. Evelyn Benitez-Lopez is a certified athletic trainer serving East Los Angeles College as a full-time Associate Athletic Trainer since 2011. Dr. Benitez-Lopez earned her doctorate in athletic training from the University of Idaho in the fall of 2017. She received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton where she completed the Athletic Training Education Program during the fall of 2007. Since completion of her undergraduate work she has had the opportunity to work part-time at various junior college settings including Rio Hondo College, Los Angeles Mission College and East Los Angeles College.
 
In addition, Dr. Benitez-Lopez has nine years of work experience with performing arts individuals through summer camps and National competitions with United Spirit Association (USA). During the winter of 2008-2009 she was selected to travel with USA All-Star High School cheerleaders and dancers as an athletic trainer/firstaid responder for a week in London, England. She supervised and provided first-aid for the participants at the New Year's London Parade. In 2012 she was fortunate to have been selected by the company president and program director to travel to Oahu, Hawaii to work at the 2012 Pro-Bowl game half time show.
 
Dr. Benitez-Lopez was born and raised in the North-East area of Los Angeles and played intercollegiate softball for two years at East Los Angeles College where she was first introduced to the profession of Athletic Training. "I feel blessed to have the opportunity to give back to East Los Angeles College and my profession by sharing knowledge, assisting student-athletes, and continuing my Husky pride."

Dr. Benitez-Lopez lives with her husband, Gerardo, two-year-old daughter, Rosaly, and two dogs, Cutie and Penny.
