East Los Angeles College Football All-Conference Selections

MONTEREY PARK, Calif. — The East Los Angeles College football team made a final statement in its first-ever year in the National Division as 13 student-athletes were selected to the All-Northern League teams.

First Team

Sophomore wide receiver Cleo Session Jr. (Garfield High School) had 22 catches for 226 yards, three TDs, five returns for 53 yards, two tackles and had a reception for 30 yards in 10 games.

Second Team

Freshman defensive lineman Ben Key (Cranbourne, AU / Cathedral HS) had 14 tackles, four sacks, 27 sack yards, five tackles-for-loss and one fumble recovery in six games.

Freshman defensive lineman Tali Amosa (Melvin AU / Wellington HS) had 25 tackles, four sacks, 29 sack yards, 8.5 tackles-for-loss and one fumble recovery in eight games.

Sophomore defensive lineman Josh Collins (Jacksonville, FL / Sandalwood HS) had four punt returns, 24 tackles, one sack, 11 sack yards and three tackles-for-loss in eight games.

Freshman kicker Ricky Quintero (Cathedral HS) played 10 games and had 53 punts for 2,032 yards, 13 inside the 20, made two extra points from two attempts, had one tackle, scored eight points and connected two field goals from three attempts, the first a 48-yarder followed by a 51-yarder. Quintero twice recorded the longest field goals for ELAC since 1975 when then sophomore Efrain Velasco (L.A. Wilson HS) split a 54-yarder through the uprights for ELAC.

Sophomore linebacker Garrett Rogers (Don Lugo HS) an American Division All-Metro League First Team Defense recipient last year, had a team-high nine sacks (13th best in the state), 46 sack yards, a team-high 57 tackles, 15 tackles-for-loss and two interceptions in nine games.

Freshman offensive lineman Cesar Gutierrez (Monrovia HS) was selected to the All-Northern League in his first year of college football.

Freshman defensive back Armando Velasco (St. Paul HS) played in seven games, rushed 72 times for 428 yards, had three catches for 41 yards, scored two touchdowns, had a kickoff returned for 17 yards and had three receptions for 41 yards.

Honorable Mention

Sophomore offensive lineman Dixon Siuele (Pago Pago, AS / Samoana HS) was an honorable mention recipient for the Huskies.

Sophomore defensive back Delon Collins (Long Beach Poly HS). In 10 games, Collins had 54 tackles, seven yards tackles-for-loss and one punt returned.

Sophomore defensive back Sam Brown (Lawrenceville, GA / Archer HS) scored two TDs in 10 games, one from a 23-yard punt return and the other a 32-yard interception return, had 23 tackles and one tackle-for-loss.

Freshman linebacker Carlos Alvarez (Rosemead HS) had 42 tackles, eight kickoff returns, one sack, seven sack yards, one recovered fumbled, one interception and a TD in nine games.

Freshman kicker Juan Rangel (Mendez HS) made nine field goals from 13 attempts, made 23 PATs from 24 attempts (96%) and scored a team-high 50 points in 10 games.

The Bobby Godinez coached Huskies football team was nationally ranked for the first time in more than 50 years during week six with a 3-3 record. ELAC finished 4-6 overall and 2-3 in the Northern League.
