ELAC Wrestles to 51-5 Win over Victory Valley

Backed by eight Victor Valley forfeits, East Los Angeles College wrestled to a 51-5 season opening win over the Rams out in Victorville.

In the heavyweight division, ELAC's David Aranda earned his first win of the season, a 3-0 decision, against Leo Medina (VVC). Eight other Huskies also began their season 1-0: Salvador Alvarez (125-pounds), Jesus Soto (133), David Ortega (149), Jose Aguilar (157), Jacob Duran (165), Emmanuel Zepeda, a state finalist last season (174), Carlos Durazo (184) and Juan Zapien (197) all notched inaugural victories.

In the 149-pound weight class, Jonathan Flores (ELAC) lost by technical fall 20-4.
