Huskies women’s soccer loses to conference leading Chaffey College

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — The East Los Angeles College Huskies women’s soccer team was shut out by South Coast Conference North Division leader Chaffey College 4-0.

The Huskies fall to 5-7-5 overall and 1-4-2 in North play. Chaffey (12-2-2, 6-0) won the North title with the win today.

Chaffey scored two goals in each half, in the 2nd minute and the 24th minute. The Panthers added two more goals in the final 45 minutes, the first in the 64th minute and another in the 85th. The Huskies couldn’t close the lanes in Chaffey’s scoring attacks.

ELAC was outshot 15 to eight. Three freshmen led the ELAC attacks, Crystal Gonzalez with four shots (three on goal), Perla Navarro with three (two) and Julianne Garcia added a shot.

Sophomore goalkeeper Adriana Huerta (South East High School) had 11 saves today.

ELAC hosts Los Angeles Harbor College and Mt. San Antonio College next week to end its 2018 campaign.
