Bio

A native of Bell Gardens, California, Lisa Fierro brings to the program many years of experience as a high school, club, and collegiate athlete. Fierro reunites with Coach Walker after she had the opportunity to play for him as an outside hitter during her days with Conquistador Volleyball Club. During her playing days, she was a stand-out performer for both for the high school and club programs.

During her career at Roosevelt High School, Lisa earned the Conference MVP, 4A City Player of the Year, and was voted the 1995-1996 Los Angeles Times Female Athlete of the Year. After graduating from Roosevelt High School, Lisa went on to pursue her college career at Cerritos College where she continued her success and dominance on the court playing both the middle and outside positions. During her freshman year, she earned 2nd team Conference player of the year and helped guided the team to a 2nd place finish. In her sophomore year, she played outside hitter. During that year, she excelled; averaging 12 kills and 5 blocks as set aiding in her earning 1st Team All-Conference recognition and aided her team in a 1st place conference finish.

Lisa’s stellar performance earned her a scholarship to play at California State University Los Angeles (CSULA), a power-house program under the direction of Bill Lawler during the 1998-2004 era. While at CSULA, she played opposite and utility positions. Least to say her outstanding performance continued, helping the Golden Eagles to its peak along with a conference finish.

After completing college, Fierro took interest in coaching. She has been instrumental in helping to foster growth during her tenure at Apex, Crush, and Protégé Volleyball Clubs; she directed and mentored players ranging from ages 12-17. As a club coach, she is instrumental in developing athletes from the fundamentals to advanced skills and tactics.

Armed with a love for volleyball along with a wealth of knowledge of the game among various levels of play, Coach Fierro implements these tools to promote personal and athletic growth among our student-athletes.

Lisa is a full-time wife and mother of 5. Her family resides in the Eastside community.
