SAN MARCOS, CA (11/17/2019) – In a rematch of last year's Comet Classic Championship game, Palomar faced East LA College and won 81-49.
Nikki Mayoral and Taylor Williams led the team with 19 points each. Mayoral went 6-17 in the field and 5-14 at the 3-point line. She had three rebounds and four assists with one steal. Williams shot 6-15 in the field and 2-9 beyond the arc. She also had three rebounds and recorded five assists. Dee Dee Valenzuela scored 11 points for the Comets and had two rebounds. Gabby Sebit scored 10 points for the Comets before she fouled out of the game. Lilly Crabtree recorded nine rebounds the Comets, the most on the team and had one block. In total, the Comets had 46 rebounds and scored 19 second chance points. Palomar had 11 turnovers and caused 21 in which they scored 32 points.
The 6-0 Comets face one of their biggest challenges when they travel to Moorpark College to take on the No. 1 ranked Raiders. They play Friday night at 7 p.m.
