GCC Women's Soccer continues improvement with 1-1 tie against East Los Angeles College Sept. 22
Another game, another opportunity to improve for the GCC Women's Soccer Team. That was the case Friday Sept. 22 when the Lady Vaqueros hit the road and came away with a 1-1 non-league tie against East Los Angeles College. They are now 1-3-1 this season.

"We had a good game and created several chances but unfortunately we had a penalty kick that we missed,' said Head Coach Jorge Mena. "We played good defense and overall, it was a good game for the ladies.''

An unassisted goal by Gianna Mor at the 43:53 mark of the first half accounted for all the GCC scoring after ELAC took an early 1-0 lead. Goalie Ashley Messer had four saves as ELAC had 11 shots on goal compared to 14 for Glendale.

GCC starts play in the Western State Conference South next with an away game at Santa Monica Tuesday Sept. 26 at 4 pm and host College of the Canyons Friday Sept. 29 at 6 pm.
