The Long Beach City College Vikings fell to the East Los Angeles College Huskies 54-27 on Homecoming Night at Veterans Memorial Stadium. With the loss, the Vikings hold a 3-3 overall record and are 2-1 in conference action.

The Huskies were first on the board but missed the PAT, then the Vikings answered immediately with a touchdown from running back Konyae Hunter and a kick from Ethan Smithlin to take the lead 7-6.

East Los Angeles kept charging offensively with two more touchdowns to close out the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Vikings hit two field goals from Smithlin, but the Huskies added another 20 points to their score to lead the Vikings 40-13 going into halftime. Smithlin totaled nine points on the game for the Vikings as he went two-for-two on field goals and three-for-three on extra points.

In the second half, the Vikings added two more touchdowns to the board from Hunter and wide receiver Semaj Dunn, but unfortunately, it wasn't enough to take down the Huskies, as they went home with the 54-27 win.

The Vikings will return to the field next Saturday, Oct. 21 at Orange Coast College at 6 p.m. for their fourth conference game.
