Delgado Named NECC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

BENNINGTON, VT. – For the second time this season, Southern Vermont College junior Jessica Delgado (Los Angeles, Calif.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week, this time for the week ending October 27, 2013.

Delgado helped the Mountaineers lock up the No. 1 seed in the NECC postseason tournament with 13 kills, 12 digs and two service aces in a 3-0 Saturday win at Lesley University. The junior also hit .333 with 18 kills, six service aces and 19 digs in a tight 3-2 loss against Newbury College on Wednesday in what could have been a preview of an NECC Championship matchup.

Southern Vermont has the week off until its Friday evening NECC semifinal matchup against Tuesday evening’s winner of No. 4 Daniel Webster College and No. 5 Lesley University.
