ELAC upsets Chaffey College 3-2, moves into first place

MONTEREY PARK, Calif. — The East Los Angeles College volleyball team posted a stunning 3-2 (25-22, 25-21, 17-25, 14-25, 18-16) victory against Chaffey College in South Coast Conference North Division play tonight.

It was the fourth straight win the Huskies posted over Chaffey in three years.

The win, in front of a vocal crowd, moves the Huskies to 9-7 overall and into first place in the conference with a 2-0 record. Chaffey (11-5, 1-1) falls to third place while defending champion Pasadena City College (7-9, 2-1) remains in second.

UP NEXT: The Huskies continue SCC North play at Mt. San Antonio College on Friday in Gym 3 beginning at 6 p.m. It is “Breast Cancer Awareness Night.”

A win against the Mounties will stop Mt. SAC’s multi-year winning streak against the Huskies.
