Salvadorean Guard, Cantwell Grad Finds Her Way East

As we approach November and the start of basketball season, ELAC women's basketball head coach Bruce Turner is expecting a return to playoff-level basketball after a rare down year in 2022-23. One reason why Coach Turner can feel good about the team rebounding from last season is the addition of sophomore G Guadalupe "Lupe" Vazquez, member of team Salvadorenas of the Salvadorean League.

A product of Cantwell Sacred Heart of Mary in ELAC's backyard of Montebello, the dynamic Vazquez recently took some time after practice to discuss her journey to East and what she feels she can bring to the Huskies.
