East LA College Softball actually needed to come from behind twice. After falling behind 6-2 in the second inning, ELAC scored twice in the 5th inning, and three times in the sixth to retake the lead 7-6. PCC scored three runs in the top of the seventh to take back the lead 9-7 and was two outs away from their first conference win. The Huskies got a few breaks in the bottom of the seventh and scored three more runs for the 10-9 win.

Only one other California JUCO football player has been signed professionally straight out of a community college: back in 2000 Alfonso Boone of Mt. SAC was drafted by the Detroit Lions. Floyd becomes the first student-athlete in the history of ELAC Athletics to sign a professional contract directly from one of our programs.
