ELAC led most of the game but gave up the lead in the top of the eighth as Compton tied things up. The Huskies were in need of some late-game heroics, and they got it as C Daniel Vierra knocked an single into right center with the bases loaded to give East LA the win.

After having their 6-game win streak broken at Pasadena City College on Tuesday, East LA returned serve by defeating the Lancers 4-3 in 10 innings. The winning run scored a throw to the plate that was high and wide.

Down 5-3 in the bottom of the ninth with two outs, sophomore Steven Villagran hit a long fly ball to left that initially had "homerun" written all over it. But it wasn't quite hit far enough, and Glendale left fielder Alex Mills had a bead on it all the way. The catch was made, and the Huskies would come up short.
