Huskies Advance to Final Four

Three years after the East Los Angeles College Huskies were on the bus to head to the CCCAA Mens Tournament, only for the rug to be pulled out from under them, the Huskies finally arrived at West Hills College in Lemoore.
Thanks to the Huskies size, and timely defense, they will stay a bit longer.
After surrendering the opening basket of the game, the Huskies took over and never trailed again, defeating the San Jose City College Jaguars 76 to 70 in the first game of the CCCAA Mena Tournament (Elite Eight)
With the win, the Huskies advance to the Final Four and will play Fullerton College on Saturday at 1pm.
"its been tough with the gaps in between games "Coach John Mosley said "just took a bit to get into a rhythm."
While the Huskies took the lead early in the 1st half and eventually stretched the lead to nine, the Jaguars proved to be a thorn in their side keeping the game close. A noticeable plus for the Huskies was their length which showed in the 23/14 rebound advantage for ELAC as they took a 37 to 33 lead into halftime.
In the 2nd half the Huskies went to work making a series of shots and leading to a seventeen point ELAC lead at the halfway point of the 2nd half.
The Jaguars would not go gently into that good night though, clawing back into the game and cutting it to a one possession game late in the period. The Huskies stood tall when needed, making their free throws and defending when it mattered to close out the game.
Noel Scott and Jon Sanders each had 15 points while Gregory Melvin had 11 points. The Huskies out rebounded the Jaguars 38 to 29 led by Melvin and Tyrelle Hunt with 8 each.
Up Next, the Huskies face the Hornets of Fullerton College in the Final Four, Saturday at 1pm.
