Interrupted Season Cut Short Promising Start

Riding a five-game winning streak, East Los Angeles College was in the middle of a schedule stretch of facing Sout Coast Conference opponents when the season was suspended. Although no one will find out how much higher the Huskies could've climbed, their efforts were highlighted in today's SCC Softball release. With a 12-6 overall record and a 7-3 conference mark, ELAC trailed only Mt. SAC in the standings when play was stopped.

Some individual Huskies that are among SCC leaders:

  • Pitcher Lauren Tate had the fourth-best ERA in the SCC at 3.05.
  • Pitcher Ralena Valencia tied for third-best in wins with six.
  • Shortstop Eliza Flores had the fifth-most RBIs (19) and homeruns (3).
  • Catcher Melanie Torres placed seventh in batting average, hitting at a .460 clip. She also tied for ninth-best in total base hits (23).
