Husky Women named to ALL SCC North Division Team

With the end of the Women's Basketball season, comes award season and when the All-SCC Conference teams were released, the East Los Angeles College Huskies were well represented, with three players named to the team, continuing the long solid tradition under Head Coach Bruce Turner.
The three Huskies selected were Freshman Forward Gabrielle Quintana (18.8 PPG, 4.0 RPG) to the All-SCC North Division 1st Team, Sophomore Forward Isabel Aranjo-Gomez (13.9 PPG, 6.8 RPG) to the All-SCC North Division 2nd Team, and Freshman Forward Diamond Bishop (7.5 PPG, 7.8 RPG) who was named as an honorable mention.
Coach Turner was glowing in his praise of his three players.
"I'm very proud of the three young ladies, who poured a heart out throughout a difficult season, but made great contributions to the women's program in East Los Angeles College . I wish them nothing, but success. Once a Husky, Always a Husky!"
We certainly agree with Coach Turner's sentiments.
Wed also like to thank Coach Turner for taking a few moments and expanding his thoughts on each of his players.
Coach Turner-"She is a red shirt freshman from El Camino high school who led the South Coast Conference North division in scoring 18.8 points a game. She was third in steals and plays a very aggressive style. She led the conference in minutes played with outstanding range from 3-point country and a very good penetrator with the basketball. We're looking for great things in her sophomore basketball season, expecting a great deal of leadership from her."
Isabel Aranjo-Gomez
Coach Turner-"A two time all conference South Coast North division selection she is an outstanding jump shooter plays great off ball defense and is on schedule to graduate in June. She hails from Leuzinger high school in Lawndale CA is being recruited by Cal State university Bakersfield and San Jose State."
Coach Turner-" A transfer sophomore from Glendale college by way of Oxnard. Diamond is a great young person great personality really a glue player to our team this year. She sacrificed scoring to do a great job rebounding the ball at 8 rebounds per game also scoring eight points a game so she fluctuated from coming off the bench and starting but never complained. She is all conference honorable mention which is a great feat as she played through numerous injuries throughout the year."
We congratulate Gabrielle, Isabel and Diamond for the selections to the team and Coach Turner and his staff as well. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for all of them!
